BWI-SAN AA for $204

I just paid $203.20 for rt on AA from BWI to SAN departing on November 10 returning on the next day. Both directions with connection at ORD. These are the ONLY dates I found at this price. I had several departure times to choose from at each end.

Spirit: Many long US routes (BWI-LAX, etc.) at $23.10/34.10 OW thru 7/21

I know you’re not supposed to get excited about a Spirit sale, but I wish I had an early warning system that would flag only the ones like this. Thru Tuesday night 7/21 they have many of their LONG domestic routes at $23.10 OW for $9 fare club members and $34.10 for everyone else, including ATL-LAS, BWI-LAX, ORD-PDX and a bunch of others.

Link to sale page

Yes, it’s limited dates and a lot of Tuesday-Wednesdays, and yes, it’s Spirit and all that entails (read up on it if you haven’t flown them before…they take no-frills to a new level). But most of their sales aren’t as across-the-board as this (domestically, at least), and the long-route RTs will go fast so ya better hurry.

And yes, this can also be a mileage play, especially if you’re a cardholder. I’m in for 2 ATL-LAS RTs at $46.20 each ($68.20 for non-members) with 24 hours on the ground (could do it as a turn but didn’t want to), which gives 3,400 miles or so for each RT, which doesn’t sound like much but looms larger if you can use the off-peak awards that start at 5K miles RT. The next off-peak period starts 9/9, and they’re concentrated in fall, Jan./Feb, and spring. Flexibility helps. Their program isn’t as generous and is much more mediocre for non-cardholders, but you can redeem for magazines and sometimes there are 10K one-ways.

Jump on it if interested.

AA ORD-MIA $111 RT ai 4.63cpm

I was poking around Google Flights and saw $111 same day turns on AA ORD-MIA on many Tuesdays and Wednesdays from September 15 through December 15. Also works in reverse for the same days.

Not the greatest deal in the world but if people are looking for some runs before the end of the year (and have Tuesdays or Wednesdays open) this could be an ok option.

Ac/(ua): Us-hkg rt $493 ai (~3cpm)

Found some flights from the US to HKG as low as $493 while playing around with google flights-seems that AC had similar prices at the beginning of the year as well. I found that it works for SEA/ORD, PDX for $593, DFW for $600. (Interestingly CA is $613 out of LAX.) Plug and play your own origins and see what comes up.

Seems to work for Wed/Thur departures and Mon-Thur return starting in mid-september through end of november (and maybe the first weekend of december?). SEA forces you through YVR and the 10-across Y, while starting from ORD can use YYZ as a connection and the 9-across Y.

Also, fare code is L, so only 50% earning for UAMP and Aeroplan, but still a pretty good fare. This fare can only be purchased/ticketed through AC (so no UA stock for those of you looking for PQD), but the US-Canada portion can be an AC codeshare on UA metal (so a few PQD)

ETA: As low at $518 of returning on Fri-Sun

Southeast Asia Open-Jaw in Nov/Dec 2015 for $770~$800 (around 3.7cpm to 4cpm)

Hi guys,

I have been looking at a trip to Southeast Asia for awhile, and has found that the open-jaw in OneWorld / AA seems to offer the most value. You can try a combination of dates, and outbound/inbound cities, but here’s a couple that I have found today:

Sample itineraries:
11/19 – 12/2 IND-ORD-NRT-CGK; SIN-NRT-ORD-IND ($808 for 19,846 – screenshot)
11/19 – 12/1 PHL-ORD-NRT-CGK; SIN-NRT-ORD-PHL ($771 for 20,847 – screenshot)

You can always get a pretty good deal from a budget airline from CGK to SIN (Scoot, AirAsia – which had a $5 sale awhile back for a 2016 departure, TigerAir, etc.)

The lowest I have seen was back in June, with an open-jaw return from PVG.

Hope this is helpful.

*A/ST: YYZ-XXX-HNL, ~10k mi, <$500 USD ~4.8 CPM same-day turn

I bought a similar AA itinerary last week (10.5k mi, $535), but those prices are now upwards of $600. Despite this, I kept masochistically checking prices anyway and now notice both DL and UA/AC matching last week’s AA price. Figured I’d post it in case anyone needs some XQMs.

I see pretty good availability for same-day Friday turns from Aug-Dec (*A having more availability than ST though, I think), with plenty of routings through Southeast/Mid-Atlantic/West Coast hubs that push the mileage over 10k:

DL, 10/23 – 10/23
YYZ-ATL-LAX-HNL-LAX-DTW-YYZ, $478 USD / $608 CAD

UA, 10/3 – 10/3
YYZ-EWR-LAX-HNL-LAX-ORD-YYZ, $478 USD / $608 CAD

Happy hunting!
